Guide — Driftline

Driftline is a free arcade drift racer you play instantly in your browser — no install, no account, no sign-up. This guide covers the controls, the drift, and how to shave time.

What is Driftline?

Driftline is a fast, original arcade drift racer set on a single neon-lit city circuit at night. A race is a three-lap time attack: you chase your own ghost (a replay of your best lap) and race one rival AI you can set to Rookie, Pro, Ace, or Legend. There is nothing to buy and nothing to type — the only thing you take away is a card of your numbers (best lap, top speed, drift score, clean-lap streak) that you can share. It runs entirely on your device; nothing you do is uploaded.

How to play

  1. Pick a rival tier on the title screen — start on Rookie if the corners are new to you, move up to Pro and Ace as your line improves, then take on Legend, which drives a near-perfect line and can only be beaten with a clean, committed lap of your own.
  2. Accelerate. On a keyboard use W or ; on a phone hold the GO pedal. There is an auto-throttle option if you would rather focus on steering and drifting with one thumb.
  3. Steer with A/D or the arrow keys, or the on-screen ◀/▶ pads.
  4. Drift by tapping the brake and flicking the wheel into a corner, or holding Space/Shift (the DRIFT button on touch). The rear steps out; steer into the slide to hold it, then straighten to bank the points.
  5. Finish three laps. Beat the rival across the line and beat your ghost’s best lap. Your result card appears — share it or hit Rematch.
